Paul Birich Aquatics: Swim Programs from Learn-to-Swim to Competitive to Masters
At Paul Birich Aquatics, every lesson is led by a coach who's competed and coached at the highest levels — not just taught them. Whether your child is getting comfortable in the water for the first time or training to make a competitive team, our program is built around one goal: real progress, taught by someone who's lived the sport.
We work with children ages 4 and up, in a safe, structured environment focused on technique, water safety, and building genuine confidence — the kind that lasts well beyond the pool deck.
A little about Paul:
Paul Birich grew up on the pool deck at Sleepy Hollow — some of his earliest memories were made in this exact pool. That connection to the water turned into an elite athletic career: Paul was an All-American swimmer and Senior National qualifier in backstroke and butterfly at Sir Francis Drake High School, then went on to swim Division 1 at the University of Hawaii.
For the past 15 years, Paul has brought that same level of training and technique to swimmers of every age and ability — from four-year-olds taking their first strokes to competitive athletes chasing their own qualifying times. He's been the assistant coach for the Sleepy Hollow Sea Lions since 2012. Paul's approach is simple: every swimmer, at every level, should leave the water more confident than they arrived — and have fun doing it.
